Meet the artist:
Millie MacDougall is an East London-based artist whose passion for creativity began at a young age. After studying BA Fine Art at the University of East London, Millie developed her diverse artistic style, which spans from abstract to portraiture where she works primarily with acrylics on canvas.
Although Millie has always been drawn to art, it wasn’t until 2015 that she picked up a pencil to create realistic portraits and pet portraits. It was by popular demand that she began taking commissions regularly in between her University studies. From this she also went on to other styles of drawings such as caricatures and digital art.
Millie’s work has been showcased in numerous exhibitions, including her participation in the 2018 Waltham Forest Art Road Show, where she earned 1st place in the Under 25s category.
In addition to her artistic pursuits, Millie worked with Hobbycraft since 2017, and in 2021, she was promoted to Online Workshop Host. In this role, she designed and led workshops both in-store and online, sharing her creative skills with art enthusiasts all over the UK. However, in 2025, after being made redundant whilst on maternity leave, Millie decided to return to her first passion: art. Now a full-time artist and stay-at-home mum to her young sons, Theo and Kai, Millie is once again focusing all her energy on creating bespoke artwork.
